On 06.20.08, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities announced new, mandatory water use restrictions that prohibit weekend lawn watering, pool/fountain filling and residential car-washing for all customers south of Interstate 85.
These same restrictions are already in place during weekdays for all Charlotte-Mecklenburg Utilities customers.
The restrictions are in place “until further notice” as repair work continues on the 54-inch water main along Providence Road at Briar Creek. It is possible that the main may be returned to service by early next week.
