A Time For Giving

“Pack the Sleigh”

Neighborhood Open House

Sunday, December 7th

5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m

At the home of:  Mark and Salome Vance / 4313 Esherwood Lane

Each year, the Providence Arbours neighborhood comes together to support a charity during the holiday season.  As in past years, the community has chosen to support the Thompson Child and Family Focus Home (formerly Thompson Children’s Home) located in nearby Matthews.

Everyone in the neighborhood (and their family) is invited to drop by Mark and Salome Vance’s home to enjoy light food and refreshments and bring their gift for our special kids and families at Thompson Child and Family Focus Home.

“Pack the Sleigh” is an annual charitable event where the Providence Arbours community sponsors children (and helps to subsidize their needs for the upcoming year) from Thompson Child and Family Focus Home.  This non-profit agency helps children who have been abused, neglected or who have disabilities.  Originally started as an orphanage in 1886, Thompson’s has grown into a full family treatment/crisis center, as well as a facility for continuous care and housing for at-risk children.

This year, Thompson’s has kindly asked us to help with their “wish list” for four of their families and children.  We wish to encourage all neighbors to participate in this wonderful event.  All the Thompson families and their children have been sponsored at this time.  If you’d like to help but aren’t sure how, a gift certificate of any amount from anywhere would be greatly appreciated.  Usually Wal-Mart or Target gift cards are best and most compatible with their needs.

Please make plans now to bring your family and visit with Santa and your fellow friends and neighbors on Sunday, December 7th.  Hope to see you there!
