CMPD Response Area 3 Newsletter

Sergeant Bob Cooke, Commander for CMPD South Division: Response Area 3, released Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department On The Beat Response Area Newsletter containing crime statistics for the month of February 2010. The statistics show a reduction in almost every category listed including Residential Burglary and Larceny from Auto which we had a slight increase in the last month.

Fun in the Snow

Residents in Providence Arbours awoke to a winter wonderland today. Get out and enjoy the snow while it lasts!

Thanks to Ganesh on Esherwood Lane for sending the below picture of Yoshi, the family dog, who is celebrating his 4th birthday this week with a romp in the snow.

Thefts from Vehicles in Providence Arbours on January 31

Three residents who live on Penmarric Court in Providence Arbours reported vehicle break-ins last night (January 31). All three vehicles were unlocked and parked in the driveways. A GPS unit and wireless head-set were among the items stolen from the vehicles.

Reminders:

Lock all vehicles.
Do not leave valuables of any type in your vehicle (GPS units & laptops are hot commodities!)
Keep records of serial #s, especially for items that you may carry in your vehicle.
Do not leave deposit slips or checks in your vehicles – they can be used the same as credit cards.
Remove garage door openers from vehicles parked outside the garage.
Remove personal identification from your vehicle.

Please remember to report all incidents to CMPD by calling 911 and report incidents to our Neighborhood Watch Chairperson, Patti Weber, at webpatti@gmail.com.

CMS Classes Resume 08.25.09

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools are back in session effective Tuesday, August 25th, 2009.

CMS offers great information to help both students and their parents/guardians on their website at http://www.cms.k12.nc.us/Pages/Default.aspx.

Interested in speaking to a “live” person for more information and/or assistance?

CMS is operating a special, back-to-school hotline at 980-343-5335. Customer service representatives will answer questions from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday through September 4, 2009.

Persons with questions about transportation may call 980-343-6715 (7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday).
